University Lecturer, Admissions Tutor, and Media Communications Lead
Rachael is a Chartered Psychologist (PhD) and University Lecturer at Coventry University, specialising in Health and Behavioural Psychology. Currently leading on a number of modules throughout the suite of BPS accredited Psychology undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including but not limited to; Drug Use and Addiction, Addictive Behaviours, Psychology of Health across the Lifespan, Psychology of Popular Culture, and Applying Psychology. Rachael has been the Psychology Admissions Tutor for Coventry University, championing a successful school outreach programme to support Sixth Form students in their future aspirations, work experience and higher education options. In addition to this, she is now the Media Lead for Psychology, working alongside regional, national and international news outlets and media to share the world of Psychology to the general public and beyond.
University Visiting Lecturer
Rachael has lectured at a number of UK Universities around the area of Health, Psychology and Behaviour Change to both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students. Covering a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Topics across Psychology, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy; Rachael has supported a number of Modules and courses with an insight in to Behaviour Change and a practical application to Psychology in the Real World.
Rachael is Enhanced DBS Checked and Certified, and has worked alongside and supported school-based education programmes for Students, from Nursery to KS5, focusing on Psychology and Behaviour Change. More recently in Further Education to highlight benefits of Psychology as career and speciality. With her PhD specialising in Psychology of Behaviour Change across the Lifespan, she has created Psychology focused training and workshops for schools from Primary to Sixth Form to benefit from a wider understanding of ‘Psychology in the Real World’.
Rachael has created supported and led training programmes with Healthcare Professionals, School Catering staff, Teachers / Educators in Health Promotion, Fitness and Wellbeing and Behaviour Change. Her Training and Workshops have supported such initiatives as the School Catering Food Plan, Psychology Therapies and Behaviour Change, and Debrief Training in Clinical Environments. Rachael is a Enhanced DBS Checked and Certified Chartered Psychologist (BSc, MSc, PhD, CPsychol, FHEA), specialising in Health and Behavioural Psychology, and currently undergoing a Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology (QHP).
